Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Your unforgettable Sahara Desert adventure begins with an early morning departure from Fes. Your professional English-speaking driver will pick you up from your riad or hotel and head south through the fertile plains of Saiss toward the stunning Middle Atlas Mountains.

The first stop is the charming town of Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” thanks to its alpine-style architecture, clean streets, and beautiful surroundings. Continue to the cedar forests near Azrou, where you may encounter the famous Barbary macaques and enjoy a short stop for photos.

The journey then continues to Midelt, a peaceful town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where you will have time to relax and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, travel through the spectacular Ziz Valley, renowned for its breathtaking panoramas, lush palm groves, and traditional fortified villages.

As you approach Erfoud and Merzouga, the landscapes gradually transform into the golden sands of the Sahara. Upon arrival in Merzouga, take a short break before embarking on a memorable camel trek across the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Along the way, admire a magical Sahara sunset as the dunes change color under the fading light.

Arrive at your luxury desert camp, where you will be welcomed with traditional Moroccan hospitality. Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Boumalne Dades

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, a magical experience that captures the beauty and tranquility of the desert. After breakfast at your luxury camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 vehicle and meet your driver to continue your journey toward the Dades Valley.

Your first stop is Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional market and its importance as the birthplace of Morocco’s Alaouite dynasty. Continue through spectacular desert landscapes toward the lush oasis of Tinghir, one of the most beautiful palm groves in southern Morocco.

Enjoy a leisurely walk along the Todra River, passing traditional Berber villages and fertile gardens while learning about the daily life and culture of the local communities. The journey then leads to the magnificent Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs rise dramatically on both sides of a narrow canyon, creating one of Morocco’s most impressive natural attractions.

After exploring the gorge, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Admire the fascinating landscapes, ancient fortified villages, and scenic valleys as you make your way to Boumalne Dades.

Arrive at your charming guesthouse in the Dades Valley in the late afternoon. After some time to relax, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and spend the night surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the valley.

Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Valley of the Roses – Skoura Oasis – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, your journey continues through the beautiful Valley of the Roses toward Kalaat M’Gouna, Morocco’s famous center of rose cultivation. Depending on the season, you may have the opportunity to visit a local cooperative and discover how traditional rosewater, perfumes, and cosmetic products are produced using age-old techniques.

From there, travel through the lush Skoura Oasis, renowned for its thousands of palm trees, historic kasbahs, and picturesque landscapes. Continue to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” before reaching the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou.

Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before exploring this remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its well-preserved earthen architecture, Ait Ben Haddou has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood films and international television productions. Wander through its narrow alleys and discover centuries of Moroccan history and culture.

In the afternoon, begin your scenic drive across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, admire breathtaking mountain views, traditional Berber villages, and dramatic landscapes that have remained largely unchanged for generations.

Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where your driver will transfer you to your riad or hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech.
