Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forests – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Your 3-day desert adventure begins with an early departure from Fes, heading south through the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, stop in the charming town of Ifrane, famous for its European-style architecture and pristine surroundings, before continuing to the cedar forests near Azrou, home to the playful Barbary macaques.

Travel onward through the mountain town of Midelt, where you can enjoy a relaxing lunch break before continuing toward the Sahara. In the afternoon, follow the spectacular route through the Ziz Valley, a region known for its dramatic cliffs, vast palm groves, and traditional kasbahs.

As the scenery gradually shifts from green valleys to golden desert landscapes, arrive in Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara. Here, begin an unforgettable camel trek across the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, pausing to admire a breathtaking sunset over the sands.

Upon reaching your luxury desert camp, settle into your comfortable tent and experience genuine Moroccan hospitality. Enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, followed by Berber music and drumming around the campfire before spending the night in the heart of the desert.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Tinghir Oasis – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Start the day with an unforgettable sunrise over the dunes, as the first rays of light illuminate the Sahara in shades of gold and orange. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and continue your journey toward the Dades Valley.

Your first stop is the historic town of Rissani, renowned for its authentic souks and rich cultural heritage. From there, travel through ever-changing desert landscapes to the lush Tinghir Oasis, one of southern Morocco’s most beautiful palm groves.

Continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls create one of the country’s most impressive natural landmarks. Take time to walk through the gorge, admire the dramatic scenery, and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere of this unique location.

After lunch, follow the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing traditional villages, fertile valleys, and ancient fortresses. Arrive in the Dades Valley in the late afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner before spending the night in a charming guesthouse surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Skoura Oasis – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, continue through the fragrant Valley of Roses, passing Kalaat M’Gouna, the heart of Morocco’s rose-growing region. Depending on the season, you may visit a local cooperative to learn about the production of rosewater, perfumes, and natural cosmetic products.

The journey then leads through the beautiful Skoura Oasis, famous for its palm groves, historic kasbahs, and peaceful rural landscapes. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the Gateway to the Sahara, before reaching the magnificent Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.

Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its remarkable earthen architecture and its role as a filming location for numerous international movies and television series. Stroll through its ancient alleys and enjoy panoramic views over the surrounding landscape.

In the afternoon, cross the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, taking in spectacular views of rugged peaks, deep valleys, and traditional Berber villages. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, where your driver will transfer you to your accommodation, bringing your unforgettable desert journey from Fes to Marrakech to a memorable conclusion.
