Day 1: Marrakech – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura Oasis – Dades Valley

Your 4-Day Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech. Travel through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking views of traditional Berber villages, mountain landscapes, and winding valleys.

The first highlight of the day is the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable earthen architecture and appearances in famous productions such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. Enjoy a guided visit through the ancient fortified village and learn about its fascinating history.

Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa” and home to some of Morocco’s most famous film studios. After a lunch break, travel through the lush Skoura Oasis, famous for its palm groves and historic kasbahs, before continuing through the fragrant Valley of Roses, renowned for its rose products and annual Rose Festival.

Arrive in the beautiful Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations and stunning canyon landscapes provide the perfect setting for your first night.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Tinghir Oasis – Rissani – Merzouga

After breakfast, depart for the spectacular Tinghir Oasis, one of Morocco’s most beautiful palm groves. Enjoy a walk through the oasis before continuing to the magnificent Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls create one of the country’s most impressive natural landscapes.

After exploring the gorge, continue toward Rissani, a historic desert town and the birthplace of Morocco’s Alaouite dynasty. If time permits, visit the traditional market, famous for its dates, spices, and local products.

In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Relax at your hotel located near the dunes of Erg Chebbi and enjoy the peaceful desert atmosphere.

Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia Village – Nomad Families – Erg Chebbi Desert Camp

After breakfast, discover the fascinating surroundings of Merzouga. Visit Khamlia Village, famous for its traditional Gnawa music and rich cultural heritage. Continue to meet local nomadic families and learn about their unique desert lifestyle and traditions.

In the afternoon, prepare for one of the highlights of your Moroccan adventure: a memorable camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As you ride through the Sahara Desert, admire the breathtaking colors of the dunes during sunset and enjoy unforgettable panoramic views.

Upon arrival at your luxury desert camp, you will be welcomed with traditional Moroccan hospitality. Enjoy a delicious dinner beneath the stars, followed by live Berber music around the campfire. Spend an unforgettable night surrounded by the silence and beauty of the Sahara Desert.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Return to Merzouga village by camel or 4×4 vehicle and begin your journey toward Fes.

Travel through the magnificent Ziz Valley, famous for its endless palm groves, fortified villages, and breathtaking viewpoints. Continue through Midelt, located between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where you will stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, cross the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through the famous Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the playful Barbary macaques. Continue to the charming town of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its alpine architecture and clean surroundings.

Arrive in Fes in the late afternoon, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or riad.
